Idling? What's idling?

Idling is when a vehicle is kept running when it's not moving - so at traffic lights or when parked by the side of the road, at a level crossing, outside schools,...

Switching off your engine when in these situations is a really easy way to REALLY help cut air pollution. It means that people who live in streets with lots of traffic, or children on their way to school, people on their way to work, the person in the car behind you - and you sitting behind another car - or anyone who is near a road with idling cars doesn't have to breathe in harmful emissions.

The flyers below gives you more information. We have made two - one general one and one to use near schools.

If you'd like to print them off to give to others or to put up in your window, you can download a high resolution copy
